T-4

First, and foremost, please observe the LEJOG cake (care of Rosie) which was both inspired and tasty.

So the rail strikes are off, the snow has ceased in Scotland and I am officially bricking it raring to go. My main aim over the past few weeks has been to make sure my bike is going to perform as efficiently as possible. In honour of this I've learnt to ride with cleats which was hugely satisfying and surprisingly easy. My bike has undergone a full service which included a major tyre upgrade (skinny/kevlar) and the fitting of an odometer which can compute average speed/length of ride/total distance etc..

I spent Easter Sunday racking up 40 miles (the odometer says so..) around Richmond park. I would say it wasn't the usual Easter fun, but I just finished eating a Gü Chocolate Pot with a Kit-Kat Sensation instead of a spoon.

More tomorrow...
